This shadow is often visible from the surface of the Earth, as a dark band in the sky near the horizon. I definitely don’t agree with everything in this article, but the discussion is pretty interesting. I’m surprised they don’t bring up Buffy—she seems like a more obvious archetype for Katniss than Ripley or Sarah Connor in a lot of ways.
